Venerable Vinegar Use #1 – All-purpose cleaner

Remember the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding, where the dad used windex for everything and that one scene where he’s got his elbow sitting in a bowl of it?…Yeah, vinegar is pretty universal just like that…and speaking of windex, vinegar is a great replacement for it as well as most of your other household cleansers/disinfectant sprays/solutions. Companies have picked up on this and have made their own vinegar/alcohol sprays that can be bought in any major store. If you really want to know what chemicals are in your home and avoid the possibility of foreign toxins you’ll make it yourself…Here’s how.

In a spray bottle (take an old windex one if you like) mix one part white vinegar with one part water to make your own all-purpose cleaner.  It’s affordable, non-toxic and simple. You can also add one part rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol to the mix if you want added disinfecting and anti-bacterial power.

WARNING: Never use vinegar on stone or marble as the acidic nature can and will eat away at the material and permanently etch the surface…
